Annual Waynesburg Christmas Parade
First Saturday in December each year, stepping off at 2:00 p.m.
Held regardless of weather on High Street, Downtown Waynesburg
The annual downtown Waynesburg Christmas Parade has been hosted by the chamber since it’s inception in 1938 with an estimated 7,000 people in attendance. Santa made news across the state that year because his truck ran out of gas which delayed his arrival in front of the courthouse!
Since the first parade, many things have changed but one thing had remained constant…. the Holiday Spirit!
The parade averages 90 units featuring bands, queens, firetrucks, floats and may other types of entries. The parade has been filmed for playback on local access channels by Waynesburg University for many years.
The parade officially kicks off the season in the county as part of a weekend long series of events hosted by several organizations across the county.
The parade is the largest community service project organized by the chamber on behalf of its member businesses county-wide.
Be sure to join us as we welcome our special guest…. Santa himself!…into Waynesburg each year.
