Greene County Pa Chamber of Commerce

EQT recently partnered with the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) to take part in its Energy and Manufacturing media familiarization tour of southwestern PA.

The Commonwealth’s DCED invited experts and industry leaders, such as EQT and several others, from around the region to offer first-hand experiences to national journalists of the exciting developments taking place in the region’s energy and manufacturing industries. EQT took the journalists on a helicopter tour of three of our sites – Drilling, Completion and Reclamation – as well as the MarkWest Fractionation Facility and the Shell Cracker Plant, all of which are shaping the future of the region’s economy and having a national and global impact.

Greene County Pa Chamber of Commerce

I.N. Dreamer Veterans Park is located in Richhill Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania . This Memorial Park is one of Greene Counties many hidden , historical treasures , and it's up on a wooded embankment along Majorsville Road in the northwest corner of Richhill Township . Another fact that makes this place interesting , and unique is that it's located in the extreme north west corner of the County with Washington County , and West Virginia near by . The park occupies an acre of property , and its 35 foot , 55,000 pound granite obelisk monument is an amazing wonder to behold . This Eagle Topped Giant Memorial pays tribute to the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, the Spanish American War, and World War One . There are four small stone memorials that recognize the Marines, Soldiers, Sailors and Military Nurses , and the park was dedicated in 1935 . Isaac N. Dreamer's original plan was that his park was for military veterans who were unable to purchase a grave , but the only people that are laid to rest there are I.N. Dreamer himself , and two other family members . The cemetery had its origin in Isaac N. Dreamer's stipulation in his will that an acre of ground was to be set aside for a cemetery in which he, his sister and his mother would be buried . His will included funding for the Dreamer Memorial Markers , and The Mammoth , Obelisk , War Veterans Memorial . The Money left over was to be used for The Dreamer Memorial Cemetery Association to be established to beautify the grounds and for the perpetual care of the property. Since this association was not formed in his lifetime the courts declared his request null and void, and the estate went to relatives. The cemetery sat neglected until 1978 when it was taken over by the county and made a public park. Here's directions on how to get there . From Majorsville, West Virginia, travel south and make a left on to SR3043, which crosses briefly into Washington County, Pennsylvania. Follow for a short distance and make a right on to Day Road and cross a bridge that spans Enlow Creek and brings you into Greene County PA. Day Road turns back into Majorsville Road. Follow for less than a quarter of a mile. The park and cemetery will be on your right. www.interment.net/data/us/pa/greene/dreamer/ ... See MoreSee Less
